UV beads
It is very easy to be caught out by the strength of the sun, particularly on overcast days, so it can be helpful to have some way of monitoring the intensity of the ultra violet (UV) radiation. These UV colour changing beads change colour indicating the intensity of the UV radiation. They help to serve as a reminder to pupils of the impact UV radiation can have, and reinforce the need to protect ourselves against it.
UV beads can be purchased locally in Falmouth, and an educational leaflet is provided outlining different class experiments which can be carried out with them.
Please visit www.melanomaproject.co.uk for more information regarding UV beads.
If you would like a member of the SunSafe team to visit your school and deliver an assembly or a workshop please contact us.
