The school will map and assess the shade coverage of the outdoor environment in peak months and seek ways to increase shade if required.

All students eat lunch in full shade if outside

All new equipment, including fixed seating is to be positioned where shade falls in summer.

All children are encouraged to wear a sun protective hat that is either broad rimmed, bucket style, or legionnaires style when outdoors.

PE kits where possible should be assessed and changed to ensure they provide good protection from the sun.

The design of the school uniform could be assessed and changed where necessary to provide good protection from the sun e.g. include hats as part of the uniform, shirts have a collar etc.
