To incorporate the SunSafe protection policy in to the school hand book

Sun protection behaviours and practices are outlined in the Parent Handbook, enrolment forms, and excursion permission forms.

SunSafe protection policies are incorporated in to the risk assessment and planning of all out door events/trips.

Families will be encouraged to implement the sun protection behaviours and practices when engaged in school experiences and excursions e.g. parents should wear a sun protective hat and sun cream when on excursions.

The school will consider the availability of shade when planning and programming for outdoor activities.

Outdoor equipment that is not fixed will utilise the shaded areas at all times of the day

SPF 30+ broad spectrum 5 star sun cream is applied to the exposed skin of children and staff when they go outside between 11am-3pm, May – September e.g. children and given reminders and time to apply/re-apply prior to going outside.
